Sofas & living-room furniture from China

Shape the room around seating, conversation and the everyday routes through the space.

Make the category work in your room

Review the sofa together with the tables and storage that surround it. A consistent material direction can connect different silhouettes without requiring a matching set. Use a scaled layout to see how the arrangement supports conversation and circulation.

Read the sofa as a room element

This KUKA HOME presentation makes the sofa’s long horizontal form and the space around the seats visible. Use that view to discuss the proposed configuration, the route behind it and the relationship to the coffee table. The image illustrates a published seating range; the selected model still needs its own dimensions and specification.

Details to include in your enquiry

  • Overall sofa dimensions and configuration
  • Seat, arm and back proportions
  • Upholstery reference and care information
  • Coffee-table and side-table relationships
  • Packed dimensions and access route

Keep these details beside the room plan and your selection references. Mark what you have already decided and what you want the supplier to propose.

Connect this choice to the rest of the home

Review this category alongside the neighbouring rooms and furniture. Where finishes meet, place the actual sample references together. Mark any decision that affects another item, such as a table size that changes the seating arrangement or a storage layout that changes circulation. A clear selection sheet makes those relationships easier to discuss.

Develop a seating arrangement before choosing the cover

A living-room sofa should be selected with the other objects that make the room usable. Draw the sofa, chairs, tables, rug and any storage together. Mark the route between doors and the positions from which people watch a screen or speak to one another. Then review the arrangement with chairs occupied and drawers open. A product can fit inside the wall dimensions while leaving the room inconvenient in use. The working layout is therefore a better first filter than the catalogue's room-size label.

Compare the actual sitting experience. Seat depth, cushion behaviour, back support and arm position affect the way a person uses a sofa, and a single overall dimension cannot capture that combination. Where a showroom visit is possible, ask the intended users to try the actual model and note what they prefer. Where selection is remote, obtain the complete dimensions and product-specific construction description, while recognising that photographs cannot establish a personal comfort preference.

Review the cover beside the wood, floor and wall samples rather than choosing it from its colour name. Identify the selected textile or leather reference, its care instructions and any relevant evidence required for the household's intended use. Removable covers are not automatically machine washable. Ask how cushions should be maintained and whether individual covers or other components can be replaced. A clearly identified material and a realistic care routine make the appearance easier to preserve after the delivery photographs have been taken.

Before final approval, check the delivery and assembly arrangement. A modular sofa needs a list of the actual sections and connection details; a one-piece frame needs a workable route into the room. Keep the configuration diagram with the item reference. Ask which pieces arrive separately, how they should be handled and who performs assembly. Record the chosen layout, cover code and component references together so a later question about a chaise or cushion relates to the exact sofa that was ordered.
